In early September, Microsoft announced a new feature built on the ASP.NET Web API, called ASP.NET WebHooks. This really isn’t a new technology as such, but it provides an easy way to implement a common event pattern in ASP.NET Web applications. Webhooks are user-defined HTTP callbacks, and the new ASP.NET WebHooks preview makes it far easier to implement a simple pub/sub model for wiring together Web APIs.
