How do I use the DNSCMD application?

A. To configure DNS, you usually use the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) DNS snap-in; however, Microsoft supplies a new command-line tool, dnscmd.exe, as part of the support tools collection. You can either install all the support tools or simply extract dnscmd.exe as follows:
Insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM.
Navigate to the SupportTools folder.
Right-click support.cab, and select Explore from the context menu.
Locate dnscmd.exe, right-click it, and select Extract from the context menu.
Select a location to save the file to (somewhere within your PATH environment variable unless you want to type the full path every time you use the command).
After you install the tool, use the following syntax:
dnscmd [] []
