Windows 10 November Update: Turning Off the Windows Background Image for Logon

With the Windows 10 November update firmly in consumer hands, we can now identify new features delivered in the OS’s first major upgrade. Some are clearly evident, but some are seemingly tucked away.

One of those new features is giving you the ability to remove the now famous Windows 10 logon background. Much has been made about the logon background, but there are those that don’t like it, believe it or not. So, for those, they can now remove it completely.

You can’t change the logon background to anything you want yet, but it’s a start.

To do this…

  1. Open Settings and go to Personalization.

  1. Go to Lock Screen and then locate the Show Windows background picture on the sign-in screen option and turn it off (or on).
