After the AI whirlwind of 2024, when seemingly every device on offer pushed artificial intelligence to the forefront, this year's CES, if still highly focused on AI, seemed to relax a bit when it comes to that technology, leaving a bit more space to geek out at some hardcore hardware — in this case everything from an eVTOL attached to the back of your SUV to a small black strip of silicon that promises to match your brain waves to an audio stimulator — really!
With each occurrence of the sprawling consumer electronics smorgasbord that lands in Las Vegas every January, the sheer volume of gadgets, gizmos and devices is overwhelming, all racing toward the future and competing for eyeballs.
Among just a few of the fabulous: Lenovo turned heads with a rollable laptop screen that extends your workspace, while Roborock wowed the crowd with a vacuum that picks up your clutter before cleaning. LG kept it cozy with a stylish 3-in-1 projector that doubles as a mood lamp, while Nvidia's powerhouse RTX 5090 GPU left gamers buzzing.
If you're also feeling overloaded, you're in luck, because we at ITPro Today have done the hard work of sifting through the truckloads of toys, TVs and trash collectors that captured our attention in these early days of 2025.
Not all of them are quite ready for the market yet, and more than a few of them carry eye-watering price tags — the future ain't coming cheap — but all eight share the impressive, unexpected, and often delightful outside-the-box thinking we have all come to expect from CES.
Among the more outlandish items on offer are some more practical (and affordable) gadgets that could very well lighten your wallets in the coming months — and if nothing catches your fancy, never fear, as the next CES is coming up in less than a year!
