A. To ensure that a user can connect via Terminal Services, perform the following steps:

  1. Start the Active Directory Users and Computers Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in (Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Active Directory Users and Computers). Note: If the user is in a domain or if the Computer Management MMC is a local account, use Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Computer Management.

  2. Expand the Users folder (if you are using Computer Management System Tools--Local, Users and Groups).

  3. Right-click the user to whom you want to grant permission, and select Properties.

  4. If this account is a domain account, select the Terminal Services Profile tab, then check Allow logon to terminal server. If this account is a local account, on the Profile tab, select Allow to log on to Terminal Server.

  5. Click Apply.

Next, ensure that the user/group has access:

  1. Start the Terminal Services Configuration MMC (Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Terminal Services Configuration).

  2. Open the Connections folder, then click Rdp-Tcp.

  3. On the Actions menu, click Properties.

  4. On the Permissions tab, add the users or groups that you want to have permissions to Win2K Terminal Services.
