Sun, makers of the Java programming language, are now offering JavaPCsoftware that will turn any DOS or Windows-based PC into a Java-basedNetwork Computer (NC). The JavaPC software provides a unique environment that lets you standardize on the Java applications, which Sun says reducesthe costs associated with user training, support issues, and application distribution. It can coexist with 16-bit DOS and Windows applications on the same PC, and Sun is positioning it as the obvious way to migrate networks to the Java platform and to network computing.
