VirtualXP: Helping You Get Over the Migration Hump for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
VirtualXP, from FarStone Software, will enable you to continue running legacy apps on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

One of the biggest detractors for many companies trying to help rid the world of Windows XP, is the software compatibility issue. It would be much easier for companies to migrate if they knew they could still run legacy apps. And, with the deadline for Windows Server 2003 coming up fast (July 14, 2015) many businesses are also struggling trying to develop a path to Windows Server 2012.
FarStone software provides an application that creates Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Virtual environments that can run in a window on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2012. VirtualXP is a piece of software that runs on the local system that converts existing Windows XP and Windows 2003 machines to Microsoft Virtual disks that can then be run on the host operating system's virtual machine software.
Windows XP is no longer being updated, meaning no new security updates from Microsoft. This makes Windows XP probably the most unsecure computing environment on the planet. With VirtualXP, though, you can still run Windows XP, but run it outside of the host environment helping to keep any potential risks away
FarStone just recently announced that VirtualXP is free for non-commercial use. VirtualXP Free supports just Windows XP conversions, while the commercial version, priced at $30 for business use, includes Windows Server 2003 support. There's a couple additional features between the free version and the commercial license, including free email and phone support.
