As expected, Oracle and Netscape today announced a stock swap that mergesOracle's NCI (a network computer subsidiary) with Netscape's Navio (aspin-off developing thin-client WebTV-like browsers).

"NCI has focused on the business market, and Navio on the consumer space. Together, we can target the broad range of markets," NCI CEO Jerry Baker said.

The new company will be known simply as Navio
