A. Windows Live SkyDrive is an online file-storage service that lets you save information online for personal use; share information with select people based on their Live ID, with either read or contributor permissions; and make content available to anyone. The Live SkyDrive interface is simple and intuitive, and the service currently enforces a 500MB limit. The service is available at http://skydrive.live.com/.

You can upload as many as five files at a time through a basic Web page or by installing an ActiveX control that lets you easily drag files onto the browser and upload them. Accessing the options for a folder gives the Web address, so you can provide instant file access by simply mailing people a URL.
