Q. You cannot view pictures by using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in Windows XP?

When you attempt to view a picture using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, Windows XP does not display it as expected, but Microsoft Paint does. Additionally, some thumbnails are not displayed in Windows Explorer. This behavior can occur if Windows XP looses the registration for the Shimgvw.dll library. To correct this behavior:1. Start / Run / regsvr32 /s %systemroot%\system32\shimgvw.dll / OK.2. Close all instances of Windows Explorer.

To correct this behavior:

1. Start / Run / regsvr32 /s %systemroot%system32shimgvw.dll / OK.

2. Close all instances of Windows Explorer.

Try to view the picture using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer again.
