A. You can download Windows Search 4.0 from the Microsoft “Description of Windows Search 4.0 and the Multilingual User Interface Pack for Windows Search 4.0” page (support.microsoft.com/kb/940157). Primary updates between version 3.0 and version 4.0 include improved indexing performance, support for indexing encrypted documents on local file systems, improved indexing of mailboxes at the client and server, Group Policy settings that allow additional search dialogs user side to search enterprise resources, control of indexing paths and throttling settings, and multilingual capabilities via Windows Search language via a Multilingual User Interface Pack.

Documentation about Windows Search 4.0 is available as follows: The Windows Search 4.0 Administrator's Guide is at technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/f98696ed-6e3e-47b7-ab38-511439bce7ae1033.mspx?mfr=true, and the Windows Search 4.0 Troubleshooting Guide is at - technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/84c1c305-baaa-4352-b55a-45daaebf18df1033.mspx?mfr=true.
