When you attempt to install a COM+ Windows Installer application proxy on Windows XP, the Application Event log records:

Event Type: InformationEvent Source: MsiInstallerEvent Category: NoneEvent ID: 11707Description:Product:  (Application Proxy) -- Installation operation completed successfully.For more information, see Help and Support Center athttp://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.Event Type: ErrorEvent Source: MsiInstallerEvent Category: NoneEvent ID: 11928Description:Product:  (Application Proxy) -- Error 1928. Error registering COM+ Application. Contact your supportpersonnel for more information.For more information, see Help and Support Center athttp://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

For each COM+ application that experiences this behavior:

1. Start / Run / Control.exe / OK.

2. Double-click Administrative Tools.

3. Double-click Component Services.

4. Expand Component Services / Computers / My Computer / COM+ Applications.

5. Right-click and press Delete.

6. Reinstall the COM+ Windows Installer application proxy.
