Here's some more information on IE 5.0 while your waiting for the downloadto finish: the big innovation in this release is the integration ofMicrosoft's IntelliSense technology into the browser, making such tasks assearching, navigating, organizing and accessing information far easier thanever before.

"Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 will deliver a breakthrough in ease of use for anyone that surfs the Web," said Yusuf Mehdi, director of Windows marketing at Microsoft. "By using Microsoft IntelliSense technology to dramatically simplify and automate common Web tasks, from detecting networkstatus to simplifying basic navigation, Internet Explorer 5 allows users toreap the full benefits of the Web."

In addition to the three focus points mentioned earlier today in the IE 5.0 announcement (simplicity, automation, flexibility), IE 5.0 providesa compelling platform for developers. With support for Dynamic HTML,open Internet standards such as XML 1.0, XSL, HTML 4.0, CSS 1.0 and 2.0, Document Object Model and ECMA-262 compliant scripting, IE 5.0 is the mostfeature-rich browser now available.

Internet Explorer 5.0 Beta is now available for Windows 95/98, Windows NT4.0, Windows 3.1, and Sun Solaris (SPARC edition). Updated versions of IEfor the MacOS and other versions of UNIX are due in early 1999. The finalversion of IE 5.0 is due in early 1999 as well and it will be given awayfor free
