When you attempt to install some Windows updated on Windows XP Service Pack 2, you receive an error similar to:

Setup cannot copy the file update_SP2QFE.inf

If you attempt tot rename the CatRoot2 folder, you receive an error similar to:

The system cannot find the path specified.

To workaround this behavior:

1. Make sure that your Folder Options are set to Show hidden files and folders:

            A) Start / Run / Explorer / OK.

            B) Use the Tools menu to press Folder Options.

            C) Select the View tab.

            D) Check the Show hidden files and folders box.

            E) Press Apply and OK.

2. Open the %SystemRoot%$hf_mig$ folder.

3. Delete the sub-folder for the update you are trying to install.

4. Install the failed Windows update.
