After the subject upgrade, you Windows XP Professional computer takes a ling time to run the startup process.

This behavior occurs because the Shell Hardware Detection in Windows XP responds very slowly.

To workaround this behavior:

1. Open a CMD.EXE windows.

2. Type REG ADD HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesShellHWDetection /V Start /T REG_DWORD /F /D 3 and press Enter.

3. Shutdown and restart Windows XP.

NOTE: This workaround should fix the slow startup, but may disable Autoplay and Fast User Switching.
