A. If you upgraded to XP from Windows Me or Windows 98, go to the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel applet and click Uninstall Windows XP. Under this same set of circumstances, you can also uninstall XP from the command prompt by performing the following steps:

  1. Start the computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt support (press F8 during start up).

  2. Navigate to %systemroot%system32.

  3. Type

    osuninst.exe

    and press Enter.

  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
