When you view Web pages in Internet Explorer 7 that were created using the Visio 2003 Save As Web Page feature, the links don't function properly, and you receive:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site file:///vml_1.htm Operation aborted.
This behavior will occur when you use the VML (Vector Markup Language) format in the Save As Web Page feature of Visio 2003.
To workaround this problem, don't use the VML format to save an HTML file from Visio 2003:
1. Press Save as Web Page on the File menu.
2. Type the file name and location.
3. Press Publish.
4. Select the Advanced tab.
5. Select a format that isn't VML.
6. Press OK.
