JSI Tip 4461. Error 0x80110801 when you import a LMHOSTS File from a floppy in Windows 2000 setup?

If you import a LMHOSTS file from a floppy, and remove the floppy before setup completes, you receive:

COM+ Setup Error

Sub-component COM+ raised an exception while processing the OC_COMPLETE_INSTALLATION setup message. ...ccompluscore.cpp (line 464)
ERROR CODE = 0x80110801 Setup failed to initialize the COM+ catalog.
COM+ will not operate correctly without the catalog.

The error is caused by the working directory being set to the floppy and the floppy has been removed.

To workaround this issue:

- DO NOT remove the floppy until setup is complete, OR

- Import the LMHOSTS file from a local partition.
