On the restart after installing SP2, you receive an access violation in Explorer.exe?

If you have installed the Application Compatibility Updates before installing SP2, the Shim.dll file can generate this error.

To workaround this problem, delete the following registry key and restart your computer:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerAppCompatibilityexplorer.exe
