The new Star Trek Into Darkness movie debuts on Friday, May 17, 2013 and to help you get ready for it, Microsoft has thrown together some Bing Easter eggs. If you drop out to Bing and enter any of the following phrases, you'll be whisked away to a special page (with full transporter effects and audio) for Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike.

Drop out to Bing (http://www.bing.com/) and enter any of these Easter egg phrases:

  • Beam me up

  • Beam me up Scotty

  • Energize

Entering any of these phrases takes you to the main Star Trek Bing page, where the U.S.S. Enterprise dips in and out of hyperspace. The main page also contains three hot-points that take you to even more Star Trek pages, where you can click other hot-points to educate yourself on Trek lore.

Click on the U.S.S Enterprise puts you on the new bridge envisioned by J.J. Abrams.

Back to the main page, if you click on the planet in the center of the screen, you'll arrive in Earth orbit where you can learn about things like where Captain Kirk was born and who talked Nichelle Nichols into staying with the original cast.

Clicking the planet on the far right on the main page sticks you directly opposite the updated NCC-1701 where you can learn about things like the Prime Directive and watch TNG's Number One do some chair dances.

Check it out when you get a chance!
