Microsoft Surface Firmware Updates for January 2014 (Take 2)

In the wake of Patch Tuesday, I reported that Microsoft delivered only a single Surface firmware update as part of its normally-scheduled update process. And that was true ... at the time. Since then, however, Microsoft has taken the unprecedented step of releasing a wide range of Surface firmware updates out of band with the normal Patch Tuesday schedule. So think of this one as a mulligan.

For historical reasons, I'll keep the original article--Microsoft Surface Firmware Updates for January 2014—in place. But you should consider this one the final word on what happened with Surface firmware updates in January 2014. As it turns out, a lot (eventually) happened, though as I noted in Surface Firmware Update Fracas, this one was like pulling teeth.

No product updates were released for Windows RT 8.0 in January.
