A. When you press F1 for Help, the system reduces the width of the current application window to make room for the Help text that appears. If you don't want this to happen, perform the following steps:

  1. Start regedit.exe.

  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftOffice9.0CommonHelpViewer.

  3. Double-click the IsFloating value, and set it to 1 (if this value doesn't exist, create a new value of type DWORD).

  4. Close regedit.

  5. Restart your Office applications.
