How can I check the amount of physical RAM in my machine?

A. There are loads of methods to get this information.

  • Right click on My Computer and select Properties. The General tab shows theamount of memory

  • Run WINMSD.EXE and select the Memory tab

From the command line you can use

  • PSTAT.EXE (part of the resource kit), the first line shows the amount ofRAM

  • Download MEMORY.EXE fromhttp://www.savilltech.com/download/memory.zipwhich just displays the physical memory and nothing else (you can use the /sswitch and it will only show the number, no other text, this is useful forinformation gathering), e.g.

C:> memory /s
66506752
