In a move that extends data warehouse value for end-to-end Business Intelligence, Cognos Inc. will support Informatica’s MX2 1.6, the latest Metadata Exchange (MX2) API version. As a result, Cognos customers will receive tight integration between products so they can deliver a consistent, accurate view of corporate data across the enterprise, extending data warehouse value to analytic applications.Cognos and Informatica customers will be able to answer critical business questions by using Cognos’ query and analysis solutions to create reports that capture and present corporate data from large data warehouses and analyze it from various angles.“Cognos’ users can now easily create and manage catalogs with seamless integration using Informatica’s MX2 API to reduce the overall complexity of building and maintaining the data warehouse and increasing overall business performance,” says Patrick O’Leary, Cognos strategic alliances vice president.
