Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Crashing Tweetium for Windows Phone
If you're experiencing problems with Tweetium after installing Update 1, you're not alone.

The best Twitter client for both Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1, Tweetium, has been severely hampered by Update 1 for Windows Phone 8.1 rolling out today. For those with the Update already installed, it's good to know, I guess, that you're not alone. It's rare that an update like this could affect installed apps so severely.
Citing a bug in the actual Windows Phone operating system release, and not the app, Tweetium's developer took to Twitter this afternoon to warn early installers of the issue.
Warning! Users who have installed WP 8.1 Update 1 (via the dev preview channel) are experiencing crashes in Tweetium due to an OS bug.

There's currently no report of a fix coming, or if the fix should come from Tweetium or Microsoft, but those with HTC devices seem to be feeling a bit better knowing that Lumia owners are experiencing the problems. As we've now learned, HTC devices won't be getting access to the Update 1 bits until HTC releases OEM drivers.
With the HTC issue and now the problem with Tweetium, maybe Microsoft just released Update 1 a bit too early to Developer Previewers. Obviously, those running the Preview for Developers are required to expect a little pain since they are essentially running beta software, but it seems like this update may have been rushed out the door a bit too soon.
