Windows Management Framework 5.0 February Preview is Available Now

As we march closer toward a public release of Windows 10 in late summer, Microsoft has been busy working to provide updates to its Windows Management Framework (WMF). WMF is a long, convoluted name but includes some valuable tools for IT administrators. The February version of WMF 5.0 is now available for download from the Microsoft Download Center.

If you're not familiar with what WMF is, you're at least already familiar with what WMF contains. It contains:

  • Windows PowerShell 5.0

  • Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment

  • Windows PowerShell Desired State Configuration

  • Network Switch Cmdlets

  • OneGet

WMF 5.0 is not a final version, only released as a Preview. So if you find a bug or want to submit a suggestion, use the Microsoft Connect website to do so.
