System Center Rollups Released with Patch Tuesday Updates

It's rare, but there really are IT folks out there that work with System Center that have nothing at all to do with monthly patching. In the majority of companies, IT staff wear many hats which includes managing the environment and ensuring security patches are up-to-date.

So, it's interesting to see that Microsoft decided to deliver a bunch of new rollup packages for System Center products the same day as Patch Tuesday. But, they have. And, they did.

Here's what's available in addition to the patches released on Tuesday:

Incidentally, the rollup 5 for VMM is actually part of this month's security bulletins. The rollup includes a security patch that is rated as Important and fixes an Elevation of Privilege vulnerability.

An Update Rollup is a batch of patches that have accumulated between major revisions of the product and it gives you the ability to deploy all the updates in one fell swoop. If you've kept up on updates or hotfixes as they were made available, you probably have most of these applied anyway, but check the KB articles to verify. The exception here, though, is the security issue resolved in rollup 5 for VMM.
