System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Support Center Exits Beta

On the same day Microsoft announced its new CEO, Satya Nadella, a new tool was released into beta through Microsoft Connect. So, obviously it didn't get a lot of fanfare. However, while most journalists were spreading commentary about what Microsoft might look like after Satya's first 6 month tenure, I wrote about it. After all, once the celebrations were over, we all still had work to do.

System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Support Center is a set of two tools used to troubleshoot ConfigMgr client problems. The first tool gathers and bundles log files from ConfigMgr clients, and the second is provided as a viewer for the gathered log files but also for applicable certificates, registry settings, debug dumps, client policies, and other things important for pinpointing issues.

Yesterday, System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Support Center exited beta and is now available for public download. Listed at version 5.0.7958.1120, the download is a .msi file that installs the two tools to the local computer. .NET 4.5 is required to be able to use both tools, and if you participated in the beta, you'll need to uninstall that version first.
