Shared Printing Needs August's Rereleased Update to Work
The released version of KB2975719 secretly fixes a printing problem.

If you've been delaying reviewing the rereleased August updates for redeployment, a newly announced issue might make you want to pull reviewing off the backburner.
The originally released KB2975719 brought an additional issue with it that might have been overlooked due to the bigger focus on August's bluescreen issues. The problem revolves around printing to shared printers, and specifically if the shared printer connects using the Web Services on Devices (WSD) protocol in Windows 8.1. The results in the Printer Spooler service crashing and print jobs failing.
For some, this may have seemed like a simple driver issue, but no, the problem resulted from applying the original KB2975719. The rereleased version fixes the issue. So, instead of pulling your hair out working on a printer problem, try applying the updated patch.
