Online storage is one of the more popular pieces of the Cloud, and today Microsoft is making sure that the company's own storage offering is too appealing to resist.
Today, Microsoft is announcing several major initiatives to bring OneDrive storage to the masses. Think Wal-Mart, the Dollar Store, or a city-wide garage sale day. "How do you sell it so dag-blamed low?"
OneDrive Consumer: First up, the company has lowered prices dramatically. Before today, 100GB of OneDrive storage would cost you $7.49 per month and 200GB at $11.49 per month. Over the next month the prices will change to just $1.99 and $3.99 respectively. Current customers will see the pricing change automatically, no need to do anything else.
Office 365 Bumped to 1TB: All Office 365 customers are having their OneDrive space allotment increased to 1TB. No Office 365 version is exempt, including Home, Personal, and University. The space increases are free and just included in the normal monthly and yearly subscriptions.
OneDrive Free Default Space Increased: OneDrive free storage was set at a default of 7GB, but this month Microsoft is moving the needle to make 15GB the default.
