Microsoft Rolls out a Bevy of Azure Improvements, GAs, and Previews

I’m not sure what the record is for most announcements for a single product group in a single day, but the way Microsoft is steadily improving Azure, I’m sure they may hit the goal soon – if they haven’t already.

Late yesterday, Microsoft unveiled several GAs, Previews, and updates to Azure. Here’s what was announced:

Global Preview of Live Streaming and new media services. Included:

  • Live Streaming

  • Content Protection

  • Indexing

Enterprise-class Web Services. Included:

  • VPN Support for Azure Websites

  • Scalable WordPress provided in the App Gallery

Azure API Management GA

Expanded Identity and Access Management Services. Included:

  • Role Based Access Control

New SQL Database pricing tiers (announced recently) are now publicly available.
