Cumulative Update Information Added to Windows Update History in November Updates

One of the non-security updates for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 this month provides a small, but valuable feature for Windows Update history.

Now, when you go to Settings – Change PC Settings – Update and Recovery – Windows Update and click the View Your Update History, you'll see a new entry at the very top of the list. The new entry will always be available at the top of the list and show information on the last successfully installed cumulative update.

This is not a huge change, but intended to help quickly identify the effective level of the operating system.

The update that adds this is KB3008188.
