The majority of customers using System Center Configuration Manager 2012 with R2 have been clamoring across community lines for some time that a bevy of fixes for the product needs to happen. Similar to how Service Manager customers were getting antsy earlier this year, thinking that that product might face an untimely end, the angst of ConfigMgr customers has been heard loud and long.
So, good news comes today with the release of Cumulative Update 2 for ConfigMgr 2012 R2 as it shows that Microsoft is still hard at work to provide updates to the product.

Cumulative Updates (CU's) are scheduled to release once every quarter. Each CU is truly cumulative in that it is a large hotfix that pulls together all previously released hotfixes into a single distribution. When customers need to apply the latest fixes, they only need the very latest CU.
