Bug Fixes and New Support for More Linux Clients in Latest OS Update for Configuration Manager

Microsoft updates its support client operating systems for System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2 on a pretty consistent basis. As new OS version releases become available, it usually doesn't take long before updated support is available. It might surprise some people that Microsoft's on-premises endpoint management application, Configuration Manager, supports more than Windows. But, Microsoft provides client support for various versions of UNIX, Linux, and Mac.

The support is not full-ranging as it is with Windows, but still does offer hardware inventory, discovery, settings management, application deployment, software updates, deployment, software distribution, reporting, and other things. That sounds like a full set of capabilities, but Configuration Manager is a beast of a product and is probably the most comprehensive management solution on the planet.

Microsoft has now released and update for the OS support clients. This time support has been added for RHEL 7, CentOS 7, and Oracle Linux 7. Additionally, some bug fixes are also available as part of the downloads.
