An update is now available from Microsoft for the Azure Recovery Services Agent. The update provides some reliability fixes, but also delivers some new features.
New features added:
Extended retention range. Customers can now keep recovery points for up to nine years if a recovery point is configured on time in four weeks.
Simpler Agent registration. Improves the experience by allowing customers download vault credentials instead of manually creating a certificate and uploading it to the Azure portal first.
Support for Windows Server 2012 R2 CORE SKUs
The new agent is available from here: Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent
