A day after the release of a mass of preview products intended to launch probably in the first half of 2016, Microsoft releases another one without as much fanfare. This one targeted toward small to medium businesses.
Windows Server 2016 Essentials has now also hit Technical Preview 3 and this time it's available for download from the TechNet Evaluation Center just like the products targeted toward larger organizations. Windows Server Essentials is a solution offered to customers who have 25 users or less and less than 50 devices to connect to the network. Microsoft maintains that Windows Server Essentials is a good starter server and can also be used a primary server in a multi-server environment.
If you have Technical Preview 2 installed already, or any previous version of Windows Server Essentials, you need to uninstall it before moving to Technical Preview 3, but you can sign-up to evaluate it here:
