Turn Windows Server into a Software Inventory Collector

Microsoft has released a new inventory tool for Windows Server.

Called Software Inventory Logging Aggregator, the new tool installs on a single Windows server and can then be configured to store software inventory for other servers installed in the organization. Once installed, you simply need to turn on the Software Inventory Logging feature on any other servers you designate to participate and configure to forward to the master.

Reports can be created to display captured data in Microsoft Excel and includes counts of installations for Windows Server, System Center, and SQL Server.
