Should cluster nodes be domain controllers in Windows Server 2016

Q. I understand that cluster nodes can be domain controllers in Windows Server 2016, should I use this?

A. No. The support for cluster nodes to be domain controllers is for very specific scenarios related to the Host Guardian Service (HGS) but is not a mainstream recommended configuration. Certain features like Cluster Shared Volumes and Storage Spaces Direct will not work on cluster nodes that are domain controllers. unless specifically required don't make failover cluster nodes domain controllers and instead run domain controllers as separate OS instances.
