Your Windows Server 2003 is unable to apply additional updates. If you examine the %SystemRoot%KBnnnnnn.log log file for update nnnnnn you see an error like:

708.797: InstallSingleCatalogFile: MyInstallCatalog failed for KB917734.cat; error=0xfffffbfe.

NOTE: Error 0xfffffbfe represents the JET_errRecordTooBig column value.

This behavior can occur on a computer that has many QFEs from Microsoft PSS (Product Service and Support) along with many GDRs (General Distribution Releases) from the Microsoft Web site, because of an architectural limitation in the Windows security database.

To resolve this issue on a computer that must install many updates, contact Microsoft PSS.
