When the CrashOnCtrlScroll registry entry is enabled, you can generate a crash dump by holding the CTRL key down while you press ScrLk (SCROLL LOCK) twice.

Since there is no keyboard attached:

- You cannot use the above keyboard shortcut to generate a crash dump.

- The HP BladeSystem servers from the Hewlett-Packard are managed using a GUI.

To generate a a crash dump, you must enable the NMICrashDump Value Name and then use the iLO (integrated Lights Out) Web interface:

1. Use the HP BladeSystem server GUI to connect to the HP BladeSystem server.

2. Open a CMD.EXE Window.

3. Using REG.EXE, type the following command and press Enter:

REG ADD HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlCrashControl /V NMICrashDump /T REG_DWORD /F /D 1

4. Shutdown and restart the HP BladeSystem server.

5. Use a browser to log on to the iLO Web interface.

6. Select Server and iLO Diagnostics and press the Virtual NMI button.
