Microsoft expected to live stream this weeks IFA OEM hardware press conference

The annual Consumer Electronics Unlimited show in Berlin runs from 04 to 09 September.  That name likely does not ring a bell as it is commonly referred to as IFA in the tech press.

Microsoft will be present at the show with a kick off press conference scheduled for opening day, Friday 04 Sep, and it will be broadcast live over the Internet.  It is scheduled to begin at 4 PM Berlin time and you can use this link to translate that start time to your time zone.

The presentation will be done by Nick Parker, Microsoft's Corporate Vice President for the companies OEM division and he is expected to highlight all of the new devices coming from partners which support Windows 10.

Earlier this year Parker also presented an OEM hardware showcase at COMPUTEX 2015 where he revealed several new form factors and devices that had not been seen in public up to that point. It is expected that he will have many more devices designed specifically for Windows 10 on display this week at IFA including those which take advantage of features like Windows Hello and its unique facial recognition feature.

I can tell you based on the reaction we have had from our Windows Hello Demo Video that the interest is very high in this feature. In fact, it is quite surprising that a third party manufacturer has not come out with a USB webcam that supports Windows Hello. Maybe we will see one this Friday during the press event.

You can tune into the live stream at http://webcast.nc3-cdn.com/clients/microsoft/2015/08/31/ and we will be following along and commenting on Twitter throughout the event.

Afterwards you can expect additional coverage on the devices right here at the SuperSite for Windows.

What are you looking for in the new hardware that is expected to be shown off?
