When you attempt to use the Registration Wizard to register Windows XP SP2. or Windows Server 2003 SP1, you receive an error similar to:

There is no dial tone. Make sure your phone line is properly connected to the modem.

This behavior is the result of a problem in the Registration Wizard (Regwiz.exe).

If you have an OEM version of Windows, contact the OEM.

If you are NOT using an OEM version:

1. Start Run regwiz /r OK.

2. Follow the on screen instructions.

NOTE: You can register Windows XP SP2, or Windows Server 2003 SP1, when you activate Windows.
