JSI Tip 8882. The System event log on your Windows Server 2003 records event IDs 106 and/or 107?

The following events may be recorded:

Event ID: 106
Source: WMIxWDM
Description: Machine check event reported is a corrected error.

Event ID: 107
Source: WMIxWDM
Description: Machine check event reported is a fatal error.

These events record a CPU malfunction, reported by the hardware or firmware.

To determine the CPU, examine the data at the bottom of the event for the CPU number at offset 0010.

0000: 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00   ........0008: 4a d3 bd a4 be b4 c4 01   JÓ½¤¾´Ä.0010: 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

In the above example, CPU 2 reported the error.

To resolve this issue, contact the CPU manufacturer for how to troubleshoot this Machine Check Architecture exception.
