When you connect a USB drive, or other removable drive, to Windows Server 2003, the System event log records an error similar to the following, but it varies with the type of device:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Removable Storage Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 111
Description: RSM could not load media in drive Drive 0 of library TEAC CD-210PU USB Device.

NOTE: It is likely that the device is working correctly.

This error will occur if the device DOES NOT support the SCSIOP_MEDIUM_REMOVAL (media ejection lock/unlock) operation code. RSM erroneously expects removable drives to support media ejection.

If the device does not support media ejection, you may safely ignore this error.

If the device does support media ejection, contact the device manufacturer.
