JSI Tip 10606. Memory leaks when you use the Sockdie utility with the –maxtput switch in Windows Server 2003 R2?

Using the Sockdie utility with the –maxtput switch in Windows Server 2003 R2 leaks memory, eventually causing a STOP 0x000000D1 BSOD.

This problem occurs in the following scenario:

1. The maximum number of connections have been offloaded from the network adaptor.

2. A new connection to an IP address that already has an offloaded connection allocates 60 bytes of memory.

3. The host tries to offload this new connection, but fails, because the maximum number of connections have been offloaded.

4. The host fails to free the 60 bytes of memory.

Microsoft will release the hotfix 919948 - Error message after you install the Windows Server 2003 Scalable Networking Pack and then change the network settings on a Windows Server 2003 R2-based computer: "STOP 0x000000D1" hotfix to resolve this problem.
