How can I check whether I have Windows Server 2003 Release 2 (R2) installed?

A. To confirm whether you have Windows 2003 R2 installed, check for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionR2Setup registry subkey. You'll also see a R2BuildNumber value that indicates the exact build of the R2 release.
