Q. Can cluster nodes also be domain controllers (DCs)?

A. DC communication is critical for clusters to function and you must have multiple domain controllers to ensure domain availability. Microsoft supports making cluster nodes into DCs.

The best practice is to make both notes in a two-node cluster DCs. If you have more than two nodes, you should make at least two nodes DCs. If you don't have any other DCs in your environment, be sure to make the cluster nodes Global Catalogs as well.

Microsoft doesn't support making cluster nodes Read-Only Domain Controllers. See the Microsoft Help and Support site about using cluster nodes as DCs for more information.
