Microsoft announced this week that over one million people have activelydownloaded and installed Outlook 98 since it began offering the temporarilyfree product last month. The free give-away ends June 30th. After that, Outlook 98 will cost about $100. Outlook 98 is Microsoft's latest and greatest email and collaboration client. It replaces Outlook 97, which wasincluded as part of Office 97.

"Our goal with Outlook 98 was to take e-mail to the next level by providingan incredibly powerful combination of great Internet e-mail support and integrated information management," said George Meng, group product manager for Microsoft Office. "From the incredible number of downloads thatwe've already experienced and numerous rave reviews, it's exciting to see confirmation that we're delivering on that goal.
