Windows 10 Universal Windows App Deployment Tool Available Now

Last week, Microsoft started delivering the Windows 10 SDK alongside new Technical Preview Builds. The first came as part of the Build 10158 download and has since been updated with Build 10166. With Windows 10 releasing in just a couple weeks, the company has also now delivered a handy utility called Windows 10 Application Deployment that allows developers to architect delivery of Universal Windows apps from any Windows 10 PC to any Windows 10 Mobile device.

This utility will come in handy, allowing developers to test apps on Windows 10 Mobile through a simple command, WinAppDeployCmd.exe.

WinAppDeployCmd is a stand-alone tool that comes as part of the Windows 10 SDK installation. To use it, you simply need to go into the Settings of a Windows 10 Mobile device, open up the Update & Security category, and turn on Developer Mode. Once this is accomplished, just run WinAppDeployCmd from the C:Program Files (x86)Windows Kits10binx86 directory.
