Windows 10 November Update: Cast to Device Using Microsoft Edge

With the Windows 10 November update firmly in consumer hands, we can now identify new features delivered in the OS’s first major upgrade. Some are clearly evident, but some are seemingly tucked away.

One of those new features is the ability to connect Microsoft Edge with a wireless display or TV. I use the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, but this new feature supports both Miracast and DLNA devices.

  1. To use this new feature, open up a web page that contains media content. This could be a video on YouTube, a photo album on Facebook, or even a music list on Pandora. These are just a few known working examples, but you can try your own.

  2. Tap of click the ellipses in Microsoft Edge (top right) and then choose Cast media to device.

  1. Edge will search for any Miracast or DLNA devices and if found allow you to select from the list.
